Host
and Participant FAQs What is Free? Free is a community-wide journey that focuses the entire church (everyone from kids to adults) on one topic for six weeks beginning February 20/21. Free consists of three parts: the weekend message, individual study guide, and small group interaction. HOST
FAQs Hosting
is easy and does not require any special skills. You don’t need
to be a counselor or Bible scholar. All you need is a place to meet and
some group members (we will help you with this if needed). The commitment
runs for six weeks starting the week of February 20. You can pick
the day and time of the week. We recommend 60-90 minutes for group time. How big should the group be and how will people be place in my group? We would
recommend a minimum of 5-6 and a maximum of 10-12. If groups get
too large then it is harder to manage and everyone experience suffers.
You can invite your friends and neighbors to join your group. Is there training for hosts? We will
offer a hosts training, check back for details. I’m already facilitating a small group. What should I do for Free? We encourage
every group to participate in the Free journey. If possible we would
love for you to invite other people to join your group even if it is only
for the six weeks. Your group may be at the stage where it needs to add
new members. What do I do with my kids? This can
get a little challenging. Some groups may meet after kids go to
bed. Others chip in for a group babysitter. It is important to remember
that if kids are going to be included in your group time, all group members
need to be in agreement. Kid interruptions can be distracting to some
people. Another option is to choose to host an on-site group on
Wednesday evenings when childcare will be available. Keep in mind
that we have limited capacity for on site groups so sign up early. Who do I contact if I have questions? If you have
question, contact Monte Wilkinson at mwilkinson@ncclex.org
or by phone at 299-1251 ext. 255. Participant
FAQs The small
group environment gives you the opportunity to connect with others who
are involved in the Free journey so you can process what you are learning
together. If you are new to NorthEast or have not moved beyond
the weekend service this would be a great way to “test drive”
a small group. The small group component of free will provide an
essential environment for nurturing spiritual growth and friendship. How much time is required to be involved in a Free group? The groups
meet for six consecutive weeks for approximately one hour and a half to
two hours. The only preparation time for group members is to work through
the material in the personal study guide. What if I need childcare? Some of
our groups will offer childcare and that information will be listed when
groups go public on our website. How do I find a group? Use the
link above, find a small group. Once you
find one that looks like it will work for you, contact the host to register
with the group. Who do I contact if I have questions? If you have
question, contact Monte Wilkinson at mwilkinson@ncclex.org
or by phone at 299-1251 ext. 255. |
